Introductions

Welcome to Summer School 2012

Mr. Jenkins

We are very excited to be teaching this summer.  We can already tell that we are going to have a terrific time.  We will be doing many wonderful in class activities as well as spending a great deal of our time outdoors.  To do so, we must make sure that the safety of every child is enforced.

We are enclosing a calendar under the tab titled "schedule" with all of our in-class and afternoon field trips.  For our in class trips we will be going on excursions during our allotted class time.  We will be back on campus before our class period is over.  While our afternoon field trips are voluntary, we encourage all students to attend as they are directly connected to our classroom lessons.  We also encourage your child to attend the afternoon field trip with his/her classroom teacher, but in the event of a schedule conflict, your child can make arrangements to attend an afternoon field trip with another teacher.  If there is a conflict, please notify Mr. Jenkins and the teacher of the field trip that your child will be attending at least one day prior.

We are going to have a wet and wonderful summer.  We look forward to working with you.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact us anytime.

Meet the Teacher Assistants
Susana, Jen, and Janice

Hello. My name is Susana and I just recently graduated from Kaimuki High School (class of 2012). I am also a recent graduate of the PUEO program. This is my first time experiencing the marine biology class as a kumu (teachers assistant). I am very excited and looking forward to working with the scholars throughout the summer!

Hi! My name is Jen and I am going to be a junior at Punahou School. I remember having a blast in marine biology with Mr. Jenkins when I was in seventh grade, and it's great to be back as a TA. I'm very excited to get wet and sandy this summer, and I know we're going to have tons of fun!

Hey! My name is Janice and I am a TA/PUEO kumu.  I graduated from Lahainaluna High School on Maui in 2009.  I am now going into my senior year at Hawai'i Pacific University.  I love working with children.  I am so excited to see the kids explore and be little scientist.
